Would You Just Look At Me?

  1. Such dramatic skies you've been having. Your new garden looks like its coming along very well. At least you haven't had to water it this year.

  2. WOW... I didn't realize just how big that back yard garden was. Amazing. And in a few years when things start to fill out... :)

  3. Cats just seem to defy gravity. Everything looks so green. Is that thanks to all the rains? I remember things being much more brown and dusty around this time of year there. I also recall maps indicating NE experiencing extreme drought 2001-2004, especially in the western end of the state. Have things improved any?

  4. MMD--Heaven's no, no more water please! I haven't even had to water the grass, but I'm always behind on mowing. Mowing is like what I imagine a colonoscopy to be.... The skies in the evens after storms have been gorgeous, and we've obviously had many.
Kim--1500 square feet in the back and east side, another few hundred in the front. It looks pretty uneven now, doesn't? And I did all taht by my purdy self.
Curmudgeon--I still think we're techincally in a drought, though we are 5" over average this year, which really isn't that much, but it comes in 2-3" deluges that never soak in. I figure, it being windswept NE, brown and dusty won't be hiding out too much longer--July and August are coming up fast.

  5. It is filling in nicely and those skies...oh my! I think we could all dance nicely on that lawn, barefoot and everything and yes, I would! It might not be pretty but it would be fun!

  6. OK I looked but didn't see you.

But I did see some great photos. Don't get me wrong, I didn't say they were all great so don't let your head swell :)

The yard looks bare but I know it's going to fill out nicely. You've got a great start with some great plants. It will only get better with time.

  7. Layanee--no dancing unless people pull weeds a part of the joie de vivre....
WA--Eh, they be ok photos. Yeas, it's amazing how when I came back after a two week trip how lush I thought the garden was. Now, I think it's just not growing in fast enough at all. I need the main area to fill in NOW so the side area will look more sparse and contemplative.
