Er. Having more than a passing acquaintance with rats, I can only say that I've never seen a rat who wanted to be eaten by anybody. And I've never seen a cat who would go near a grown rat!
Anna--You ought to read her dad's memoir, In the Shadow of Memory (he's also a poet). It's a fascinating exploration about a brain disease he contracted on an airplane, and the science (And personal familial history) that might have helped it get rooted in him.
