To "like" this blog on Facebook. I'll tell you later why. I know this is an odd post and completely self serving. I'd really be very very thankful (especially if you've ever liked anything you've read on this blog).
Remember that tenacity isn't just hope, but it's faith that what you want to happen--that what you believe can happen--will happen.
The Deep Middle on Facebook

If I were on Facebook I would.

Hit the like button and everything started flickering: something wrong with the code, I think. Don't know if it worked.
I tried. I logged in to EE FB page, then went to your FB but ON your page, it doesn't offer me the chance to Like. What gives?
Lucy--Join the dark side....
Adrian and Diana--I've checked this twice today, and all the FB links on my site are working, and others are generously "liking" the page ok. I wish it would just work for you and don't understand why not. I know when I leave my computer on for a week or two at a time strange things like that begin to happen....
Done and done
done, i think.
Jim--Don't see you on the list! I'm trying to raise my "likes" to enhance the chances of getting a book published. It's a whole new world out there in the 21st century publishing industry.
Benjamin, what happens if you go to my FB page for EE. I have a Page, but not a Profile. I have been able to like other Pages, but not yours. For yours, FB whines that I have to have a Profile.
What I have on FB works for me, but not between the 2 of us. If you could Like me, then you too, could reset something, so the rest of us could Like you.
Benjamin, I'm not ready to handle Facebook...don't know if I want to be that 'known'...and time is an issue. Otherwise, because your blog's so interesting, I would. All the best with it.
Click, click. Didn't see the number change however.
Gregg--Gotchya! Thanks!
SAB--Facebook, you know you want to...
D--That is insane. Can you like my author profile page ok, or is that an issue too?
EE likes DeepMiddle. Benjamin likes EE. EE page likes DeepMiddle Page, but Benjamin profile likes EE page.
EE doesn't have a profile, because that is for the blog, page to page. My personal FB doesn't do Likes or apps because of FB privacy issues. Your personal author page, would require Diana likes Benjamin.
Hope this all works out for you now. Course you realise you now have a blog, and 2 separate FB pages to keep fed and watered ... after the day job and fending off dogs and lawnmowers ;~(0)
PS if you put up a slightly longer post - about FB and modern publishing, we can link to it on our FB page, and off you sail into the next round ...
OMG I need a drink.
I'll try liking your blog from my blog FB page too. Will you do the same for Ecological Gardening? Thanks.
I'm now wondering if the malfunction is a firefox thing. Sometimes I have to use safari to post comments at certain blogs. Hmm. Maybe chrome?
Adrian
Diana--None of that makes sense. I don't understand why a person (me) can't just make a page, and anyone can like it. And as far as keeping everythign fed and watered: I don't want the TDM FB page to be something that I have to maintain and create conversations on--who wants yet another feed of blathering crap coming through on their FB main page? I just now some folks find it easier to follow new posts on FB, or on Twitter.
As for my author FB proofile page, one is a wikipedia entry I have no control over, and the other is one I made with the cover of my most recent book.
As for all this multimedia, is becoming glaringly obvious that agents, presses and what have you expect you to have a "following" on social media sites, and I don't know how to do that without having faker marketing conversations with 100s of people a day. It's overwhelming. But I have to try something. I'm not Oprah.
Adrian--likes. You just started a page too? I saw a report last night that depending on what browser you use, flight tickets can be substantially cheaper.
