When I was a child the blue jay was my favorite bird! How could you not love his bright colors and raucous behavior! Now, I have learned to appreciate the subtlety of the wren which sings so sweetly. Each bird has its' merits.
It's been since my childhood that I've had such a variety of birds--I'm getting to know them all over again. The cardinal and blue jay are gorgeous, but yes, raucous! I might prefer house finches at this point.
