Foggy Morn Avec Spider Web

The ONLY benefit to getting up at 8am every day (far, far too early for me), is feeling the cool morning air, and finding such treasures as fog in the fall garden--fog you could see sliding through the air and collecting on several spider webs. The droplets on the largest web mimicked the 'Prairie Jewel' eupatorium in the background, and the virgin's bower (native sweet autumn clematis) in its first season on the arbor. I strongly suggest clicking on pics to expand. I love it when a plan comes together (I miss the A-Team). Bonus: don't skip the hummingbird moth (white-lined sphinx) at the bottom, I almost did.

Nice "web" sites, and did you ask the hummingbird moth to color coordinate with your garden?

Wow- what a creepy icky, yet cool shot of a web! I just saw the pics of the mantis eating the bee too- impressive- how do you get these shots?!

Hi Benjamin, at least by that time the sun is up. I have to wait for several hours for the daylight, the longest hours endured. Your foggy spider web and moth is magnificent, and your garden is looking much more mature, good work!

BTW, your sidebar is still showing the blogger address for Faire Garden.

Les--You know, I have been raising certain moths so as to match the garden flowers. Isn't this pretty normal?
A--I get LUCKY! I'm pretty good and seeing small things in the garden, and walk it a few times a day.
F--I am VERY happy with the garden. And after planting a whole slew of plugs and bare root things the last two wings, I think next year will be incredible. I hope. IF winter isn't oo cold. And I'll update your address soon--if I forget, let me know again!

You Sphinx moth was well hidden amongst its nectar source. That first photo made me go "Aah" when I clicked on it and made it larger. Foggy mornings are wonderful aren't they?~~Dee

You are spoiled by academia. The poor working stiffs of corporate America (like my spouse) are already at work at 8 a.m. :^) I love those misty shots with the webs, but then I like spiders anyway. That moth is the one I mentioned in my comment - my personal top 5 insect/bug things.

Seriously, if you call 8 am early, you've led a sheltered life!

Dee--Snowy mornings are nice, too!
MMD--I know I am, trust me. Summers "off" are nice, though I spent mine workign about 8 hours every day researching / writing, but at least I like doing that most of the time. And I have been a working stiff, so if I had to be one my whole life I'd just as soon be dead. That isn't an insult, just saying that I would not be happy, fulfilled, et cetera for myself.
Susan--Hey, I've worked plenty of jobs where I had to get up much earlier. Why can't I know who / how I am? I know I'm happier and more pruductive, and healthier, if I get up at 9, writer for a few hours, and teach in the afternoon. I had a prof in college who wouldn't teach before noon--he is my hero.

I guess I've led a sheltered life too because I agree with you Benjamin ~ 8 AM is way too early in my book too. I've been saying for a long time that work schedules starting at noon and ending at 8 PM should be optional! Anyway, your foggy morning photos are wonderful. Your garden looks beautiful, I want to follow the path thru the arch and see where it leads.

Kathleen--Finally, someone does! Thank you for agreeing with me! I sleep the hardest in the mornings, so to lose out them really messes me up.
